Central air conditioner
Cooling only, distributed through your existing ducts. Cheaper up front than a heat pump, but with no rebates and no contribution to heating.

Natural gas furnace
Powerful, immediate heat, even at −30 °C. Current models reach 99% efficiency and modulate their output instead of running all-or-nothing.

Electric furnace
No combustion, no chimney, no carbon monoxide detector. Rarely the main system today — but the ideal partner for a heat pump.

Indoor air quality
Filtration, air exchange, humidification and UV treatment. In a well-sealed house, this is often what is missing before comfort actually arrives.

Smart thermostats
The thermostat is not an accessory. On a modulating system it is what decides how finely the equipment can run — and the wrong one cancels what you paid for.
Dual energy
Electric heat pump and gas furnace
The heat pump carries the heating for most of the season, and the gas furnace takes over automatically in deep cold. Your ductwork is already there, you gain air conditioning along the way, and you keep the power of gas for the days that genuinely need it.

A gas-heated house has a duct system — a central heat pump connects straight into it.

The thermostat reads the outdoor temperature and picks the source. You touch nothing.

He was professional and laid out a few options, explaining the advantages and drawbacks of each. We went with the Lennox XP14. The installation was done professionally within a few days. Very satisfied with the service and with how well the system performs. I highly recommend this company.
