Programs change, and so do the amounts. Here is the real state of the available assistance, with the date we last verified it.

What changed in 2026

The programs available

LogisVert

Hydro-Québec

Up to $6,700

The main assistance program for installing a heat pump. The amount is calculated from the unit’s capacity at −8 °C and its cold-climate certification: the better the heat pump holds its output in deep cold, the higher the assistance.

Main conditions

  • Be a residential Hydro-Québec customer.
  • Replace an existing heating system — the program does not cover the original equipment in new construction.
  • Install a certified unit from Hydro-Québec’s eligible equipment list.
  • The new system must be electric: natural-gas-fired equipment is not eligible.

Rénoclimat

Government of Quebec

Up to $5,000

Covers the building envelope — insulation, air sealing, doors and windows — not the heat pump itself. It combines with LogisVert when the work is part of the same project, and requires an energy evaluation before and after.

Main conditions

  • An energy evaluation must be completed before work begins.
  • Does not cover heating equipment — it targets insulation and air sealing.
  • Can be combined with LogisVert within the same project.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Chauffez vert program still exist?

No. Chauffez vert, which supported replacing oil or propane heating, ended on 31 March 2026. If you have seen advertising promising "up to 50% of the purchase cost", it was referring to that program. Assistance now runs through LogisVert.

Can I combine programs?

LogisVert and Rénoclimat combine when the work is part of the same project. Rénoclimat does not cover the heat pump itself, though — it targets insulation, air sealing, doors and windows.

Who applies, you or me?

The application is in your name, but we support it: we confirm the chosen equipment is on the certified list, provide the technical documents required, and guide you through the form.

Does an air conditioner qualify for a rebate?

No. The programs target heating — equipment that only cools does not qualify. That is one more argument for a heat pump if you need to replace an air conditioner anyway.

What if my situation is not in the estimator?
