Seven decades, one address
1955 — The beginning
Chauffage Pierrefonds is founded by Jean-Paul Dussault and Gérard Raymond. The West Island is filling with new houses, and the company installs the oil heating systems that warm them — along with the oil delivery and after-sales service that went with them.
The 1970s — Air conditioning and gas
The company adds the sale, installation and servicing of air conditioners, electric furnaces and natural gas furnaces.
It is also the decade our partnership with Gaz Métro — renamed Énergir in 2017 — begins, as a certified partner. That relationship has now run more than fifty years.
The 1980s — Heat pumps
Heat pumps and very high-efficiency gas furnaces arrive. Some of the original employees retire. Several of the young people who replaced them are still with us today.
The 1990s — The second generation
Jean-Paul Dussault hands the business to his three children: Réal, Francine and Pierre.
The handover between generations is where most family businesses end. This one made it through.
Today
Still at 15720 boulevard Gouin Ouest. Still in heating, cooling and indoor air quality. Still in the family.
What has changed: oil gave way to natural gas, and natural gas is now beginning to give way to electricity. We are guiding customers through that transition the way we guided them through the last ones.
Quebec’s oldest Lennox dealer
We are a Lennox Premier Dealer, and the oldest Lennox dealer in the province — the third oldest in Canada.
Premier Dealer status is not decorative: it requires maintaining a high customer satisfaction rating and ongoing technical training on both products and installation methods.
Our team
Close to 40% of our team has been here 25 years or more.
In a trade where the customer’s fear is hiring an installer who will have vanished in three years, that is probably the most important thing we can tell you about ourselves.
In practice it means the technician who comes for your annual maintenance is often the same one year after year, and that they know your installation because they put it in.
Our employees are licensed in their respective trades. We also employ our own licensed electrician, which spares us — and you — from coordinating a second contractor on a conversion.

Our RBQ and CMMTQ licence is 1136-3629-82. It appears at the foot of every page on this site and on our quotes.
Do you do commercial work?
No. We focus on residential, and exclusively on Lennox residential products. That is a deliberate choice: it lets us know one range thoroughly rather than ten superficially.
Do you still deliver heating oil?
No. Oil delivery was part of our business in the early decades, but we no longer deliver oil or convert oil-fired systems.
