Installation
An installation plan drawn for your house, sized from a real load calculation, and a crew that leaves the place as they found it.
A plan before the tools
Every installation starts with a plan drawn for your house: where the equipment sits, how the ducts run, venting, condensate drainage, the outdoor unit’s position and the electrical connections.
That plan follows manufacturer specification and applicable codes. It is not improvised on site the morning of the job.
The ductwork gets the same attention as the equipment
An undersized or badly transitioned duct system throttles even the best equipment. We check what you have, size what is needed, and modify where it matters — rather than connecting a new unit to whatever was already there and hoping.
Where a project calls for it, that includes new plenums and transitions built to the actual geometry of your basement.
On the day
- The crew protects floors and walkways before anything starts.
- The old unit is removed and hauled away, with refrigerant recovered per regulation.
- The new equipment is installed, connected, commissioned and verified.
- The system is balanced and the settings documented.
- The site is cleaned up. It is the single thing customers mention most in the reviews they leave us, and that is not an accident.
Before we leave
The technician shows you how the equipment and thermostat work, how and how often to change the filter, and what to watch for. You get the documentation, the warranty information and the service department’s contact details.
If we have installed a heat pump, they also walk you through the thermostat setting that avoids triggering backup heat unnecessarily. Five minutes that show up on the February bill.
Frequently asked questions
How long does an installation take?
A straight equipment swap with existing ductwork in good shape is usually one day. A full conversion involving duct modifications, an electrical upgrade or a new outdoor unit runs two to three days. The estimated duration is in your quote, not sprung on you that morning.
Will I be without heat during the work?
In cold weather we schedule replacements so the house does not spend a night without heat. We confirm this with you when the appointment is booked.
Who handles permits and compliance?
We do. The work is carried out to manufacturer specification and applicable codes by licensed employees. Our RBQ licence is 1136-3629-82.
Do you do the electrical connections?
Yes. Our licensed electrician handles the connections and, where a conversion requires it, the service upgrade — so you are not coordinating a second contractor.
