Privacy policy

To be completed before launch. This policy is drafted to comply with Quebec’s Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (Law 25), but two items must come from the business: the name and contact details of the person responsible for the protection of personal information, and the retention period actually applied. See CONTENT-TODO.md.

What this policy covers

This policy describes how Chauffage Pierrefonds Heating 1955 Inc. collects, uses, discloses and retains the personal information of visitors to this site and of its customers.

Information we collect

We collect only what you provide voluntarily:

• Through the quote form: name, email address, telephone number, property address, information about your heating or cooling system, and any photos you choose to attach.
• By email or telephone: whatever you tell us when you get in touch.

We collect no banking or credit card information through this site.

Why we collect it

Solely to:

1. respond to your request and prepare a quote;
2. schedule and carry out the work or service requested;
3. provide maintenance and warranty follow-up on your installation;
4. meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your information and do not share it for third-party marketing.

Disclosure to third parties

Your information may be disclosed only where it is necessary to deliver the service:

• to the manufacturer (Lennox), to register the warranty on equipment we install;
• to Hydro-Québec or a financial assistance program, when you ask us to help with a rebate application;
• to a licensed subcontractor, where specialised work requires it, and only to the extent necessary.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use behavioural advertising tools.

Traffic statistics, where enabled, are collected through a cookieless tool that cannot identify you or follow you across sites.

Hosting and data location

This site and our email are hosted on servers located in the United States. Information you send us through the form or by email passes through and is stored there.

Retention

Quote requests that do not lead to a contract are kept for as long as commercial follow-up requires, then destroyed. Photos uploaded through the form are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Files for customers who have had an installation are kept longer, to support warranty and maintenance follow-up on the equipment.

To be confirmed: the exact retention period the business applies to customer files.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Uploaded photos are stored outside the server’s web root, which makes them unreachable from any public address, and are purged automatically.

Your rights

Under Law 25 you have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
• request its deletion, subject to our legal obligations;
• withdraw your consent to its use;
• file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

To be completed: the name, title and contact details of the designated person. Law 25 requires this role to be assigned by name and the contact details published.

Privacy incidents

In the event of a privacy incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we will notify the individuals concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information as required by law, and record the incident in a register.
