Accessibility
This site targets WCAG 2.2 level AA. Here is what we have done, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us about a problem.
Our commitment
A good share of our customers are over 55, and many read this site on a phone, often in a hurry — a heating failure, on a January evening.
This site targets WCAG 2.2 level AA.
What we have done
- Contrast. Every text and background combination meets AA thresholds.
- Touch targets. Buttons and primary links are at least 48 px tall.
- Keyboard navigation. The whole site works without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator throughout and a “skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
- Real text. No information is locked inside an image. Text scales up without breaking the layout.
- Structure. Hierarchical headings, HTML landmarks, and form labels tied to their fields.
- Without JavaScript. The FAQs use native elements and stay readable even if scripts fail to load.
- Reduced motion. Animations are switched off when your system asks for it.
- Language. Every page declares its language, and quotations in the other language are marked as such for screen readers.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than claim perfect conformance:
- Our accreditation logos come from low-resolution source images. They carry proper alternative text, but may look soft at high zoom.
- The quote form has several steps. It works by keyboard and without JavaScript, but it is still longer to get through than a simple form. You can always call us at 514 626-3913 — that is an equivalent route, and often a faster one.
- Some third-party documents (manufacturer spec sheets, government program pages) are outside our control.
